Discovering the Hobby
Greenhouse
Discover the
wonderful world of gardening with a hobby greenhouse. A hobby
greenhouse is a home for plants, flowers, and vegetables, and a home
for your own space to find rest and relaxation when you most need
it. You can bring the world of outdoor gardening indoors to where
your plants and flowers will thrive all through the winter giving
you the real sense of achievement in growing. Although some consider
a greenhouse a major investment, there are many thousands and
hundreds of thousands of people that use greenhouses to grow their
own foods and to meet their gardening hobby needs. There are many
styles of greenhouses to choose from when you are considering buying
a hobby greenhouse. One greenhouse is the freestanding traditional
greenhouse, which is a miniature ‘house’ complete with a door,
peaked roof, and four walls.
This
rectangular shape greenhouse is the type that you most often will
find when combing the countryside for greenhouses. Keeping with a
square or rectangular shape, the hobby gardener can utilize the
space best using benches, shelves, and hangers to maximize usage.
You will also find a variety of differences in the framing, the
decorations on the greenhouse, and perhaps even some types of
rounded structures that are eye pleasing but the rectangular or
square shaped traditional greenhouse offer you the most for your
money when you are comparing growing space, heating costs and
sunlight through out the greenhouse. Another type of greenhouse is a
lean-to. A lean-to greenhouse is where the structure actually does
lean against another structure or building. The lean-to hobby
greenhouse is generally three walls, sometimes a door, vents, and a
sloped one-sided roof. Lean-to hobby greenhouses are wonderful if
you have the space that is just right for adding on a sunroom or
similar idea. When the addition to your home also faces the
direction for you to get the full exposure of the sun during the day
(for a minimum of six hours) you can use a lean-to greenhouse, but
since not many of us are that fortunate, we opt for the freestanding
greenhouse to take advantage of the full sun allowance during the
day.
